Volunteer Application

SIRUM has a small, passionate team committed to our impact. We are looking for student and professional volunteers who can commit to regular, in-person volunteer hours. Our application cycles are as follows:

To start in January, apply by October 1st.
To start in April, apply by February 1st.
To start in September, apply by July 15th.

Our Current Positions

SIRUM is a young organization with experience from McKinsey, the Clinton Foundation and Stanford Biology. We’re a group that likes to work hard, solve tough problems, all while debating the merits of keyboard shortcuts, browser speed v. utility, and Macbook screen sizes.

Questions about working at SIRUM

You’re a nonprofit. How are employees paid?

We are a nonprofit, so we can’t exactly compete with salaries from Google or Facebook, but we do believe in fair compensation, and pay within industry standards.

I’ve never worked at a nonprofit before. Is that a problem?

While some positions might be more specific to nonprofit operations (like fundraising), we welcome people from all walks of life.

What’s it like working at your nonprofit?

It’s pretty great. We’re a smart, fun, and driven group of people that gets stuff done. We’re passionate about helping people, not because we’re hoping to IPO one day (which would be impossible), but because we want to spend our waking hours doing something that actually makes a difference in real people’s lives.

Are there benefits?

Yes! We cover 100% of health insurance premiums and paid time-off. No, we don’t have a free lunch buffet, but maybe once in a while we’ll go out, grab drinks or have yummie snacks for sharing.

Could I work remotely?

Most of our positions require a physical presence. Please note the location for specific location requirements.

Are there stock options?

A nonprofit doesn’t have stock options.
